With the Chevy C-10 truck becoming a wildly popular platform for restoration and pro-touring projects American Powertrain has introduced their new line of ProFit transmission installation kits specifically for C-10 customers. As with all of American Powertrain’s kits, these systems feature the TREMEC TKO 5-speed and Magnum 6-speed coupled with all of the parts needed to successfully install these gearboxes with an excellent shift position for both bench and bucket seat projects.
All gearboxes are available with their Xtreme upgrade to handle up to 1100ft-lbs. of torque and high rpm shifting. All ProFit kits are covered by AP’s 2-year warranty and their exclusive 24-hour customer first tech support. Complete kits start at $3295 and are available now.
Kits feature AP’s lightweight X-Factor aluminum cross member with ISO-X ballistic mount, mechanical or electronic speedometer solution, VSS set-up for EFI, pilot bearing, Weatherseal reverse light wiring, complete seamless DOM driveshaft, shift knob, hardware and instructions. If you are starting with an automatic or an empty chassis American Powertrain can provide all the parts you need for a diff to block installation. 6-Speed kits can be ordered with a new bell housing or their innovative Maglink adapter for fitment to existing 4-speed bell housings.
A pro-touring series upgrade is available on all kits, netting customers a race balanced aluminum driveshaft and their billet White Lightning shifter for maximum performance. I have a 3 in a Tree transmission column shift in my 66' Chevy C10. My truck has a 350 V8.
Will the ProFit 5 fit in such a way that it won't scrape the ground when airbag suspension deflates, frame to ground?
Also, if I purchase the ProFit 5, will I need to modify the gear ratio to my 12 Bolt rear end & modify drive shaft?
so i wont have to modify my clutch I purchase profit 5? 1970 c/10 SB 350 5.7 long-bed 3 speed column shift.
