Magnum XL conversion kit for the 2010-15 Chevy Camaro SS.
The GM Magnum XL 6-speed kit for 5th Gen Chevy Camaro is a direct replacement for the stock TR-6060 6-speed. This kit features the new GM Magnum XL with a direct shifter mounted on an extended tailhousing. This replaces the TR-6060s complicated shifter assembly. Giving you firm crisp shifts without the sloppy feel. The new Magnum is rated at over 700 lbs/ft of torque and nearly 8000 RPM shift capacity. It’s a great upgrade for higher performance engines, worn out transmissions or just to improve gearing and acceleration.
Our kit comes with a standard aluminum LS bellhousing (scatter shields are also an option), new clutch kit and bolt in hydraulic bearing with correct fitting to the OE master cylinder. You can reuse your stock crossmember by simply bolting in the included 1″ spacers to drop it down for fitment. This kit does require a new driveshaft! We have included a new yoke and a driveshaft flange adapter for the rear end. You will need to bolt this adapter on and then do your driveshaft measurement. Fits a standard 1350 four bolt driveshaft flange. To finish it off we bolt on our short throw White Lighting shifter with the correct offset so the shifter handle is in the original position.

Like the original Magnum, the GM Magnum XL is an aftermarket version of the celebrated TR-6060, which serves as factory equipment in numerous Detroit-based muscle and sports cars. However in order to accommodate the rearward shifter location of modern performance vehicles, the XL’s unique extension housing moves the shifter over eight inches back from the original Magnum’s most rearward location. In addition, to keep NVH down to daily-driver acceptable levels, the XL is equipped with a unique shift isolator that provides an astonishing blend of dampening quality and precision shift feel. In the NVH (noise, harness and vibration)-sensitive world of modern automobile manufacturing, bolt-on ‘semi-remote’ shifters are often used on manual transmissions to isolate undesirable harmonics from the cabin of an otherwise quiet factory application. While they perform this function well, the trade-off is heavily compromised shift quality in high-performance or competitive driving environments. TREMEC’s GM Magnum XL 6-speed solves this problem with a unique extended-length tail housing that provides a rigid direct-mount shifter for vastly improved performance and lightning quick shifts.
