American Powertrain is the industry leader in 5 & 6-speed manual transmission conversions for American muscle cars and customs. We have positions open in our facility in Cookeville,Tennessee for modifying, upgrading and repairing late model manual transmissions. These positions also involve development of new applications for our 5 and 6 speed transmissions as well as ancillary products.
Applicants must have a high degree of mechanical inclination and previous experience in automotive mechanics and manual transmissions.
Candidates with machining skills, good organizational skills and management skills will have room for promotion within the company.
Salary is based on experience and skill level. This is a full time position Monday through Friday with some flexibility in the hours.

Hi guys , I have a 68 Chrysler 300 coupe , and want to convert from auto to a modern 5 or 6 speed manual trans , would like it to look factory, ie as in shifter position , it’s original console car , can you help with complete kit , ?

We do not have a complete kit but we can get you 90% of the way there. The big thing you will to fab up a crossmember and source a clutch pedal. But we can bolt the trans up to the engine etc. Just give us a call at 931-646-4836
